It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Nile French. Nile was an amazing, huge-hearted, immensely unique beacon of light to all of us and will be deeply missed. He was such a gift to our family for the 22 years we were blessed to know him, and his sudden passing on October 11, 2021 has shocked us and left us reeling.
We are raising money to help cover the costs of the cremation and memorial services for Nile as this passing was completely unexpected and we had not been prepared for the loss, let alone the sudden influx of expenses to get him home from across the country and settle all of the costs that are accruing without the help of an insurance policy, as he did not yet have one in his young age. We are planning to have a service for him in November and send him off shortly after. We are humbly thankful for any contribution of any amount to help us honor his memory, but we are also thankful for your prayers and words of comfort as we struggle with this loss.
We would like to donate a portion of this effort to organizations addressing mental health issues young people are struggling with, especially on the heels of this tumultuous and unprecedented last year and a half. We have all been hearing stories from friends and family about their younger loved ones who are also struggling right now, and we'd like to honor Nile with your help by contributing to organizations that are working with them and getting them the help they may need so that they will still get to see their family tomorrow.
We can't thank you enough for your support whether you are a friend, a family member, or a stranger who is kind enough to help us in this most difficult time. We love you forever, Nile.
