Nik’s Road to Recovery

“It’s a long road up to recovery from here, a long way back to the light.”
Hey everyone. You probably haven’t heard from me in a few days, but that’s because I’ve been here at Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital as an inpatient working to get better.
This has been one of the most difficult struggles I have ever been through, and the fact that I have such limited contact with those I love and care for the most haunts me.
I will rise up stronger after this little blip on my timeline though.
Tentatively, I am scheduled to be transferred to a long-term inpatient care facility for further rehabilitation this Wednesday if everything goes according to plan. That hospital facility is in Elk Grove Village.
Ben will be my voice during this time, and I hope to occasionally post updates as I can.
Please give him your kindness, love, and support during this period as well. I need you all to be there for him as much as you are going to be there for me.
I’ll be under inpatient care for at least 28 more days after transferring Wednesday.
If there’s anything you can do to support my journey, please feel free to give.
I love and miss you all and am thankful to have you all as a part of my life.
