Nikole’s fight with cancer

Buen día a todos, Dios los bendiga, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Me acerco hoy porque mi hermosa hija Nikole necesita nuestra ayuda. Nikole es una madre soltera con dos hijos maravillosos, que no sólo la aman sino que la necesitan y dependen de ella. Ella es la mejor madre que conozco y ama a sus hijos más que a nada en este mundo. Es un alma hermosa que desde pequeña le ha encantado ayudar a los demás y cuidar de los demás sin esperar nada a cambio. Es inteligente, divertida, independiente y una mujer cariñosa y fuerte que ilumina cualquier habitación cuando entra. Ella es el alma de la fiesta, la cantante, la bailarina, la comediante, entre otras cosas maravillosas. Es una de esas personas que es imposible olvidar una vez que la conoces. Ella siempre da los mejores consejos y definitivamente puede tocar tu alma con sus palabras de sabiduría y aliento. Ella siempre ha sido un vehículo de Dios que difunde amor y bondad por todo el mundo, incluso con personas que ni siquiera conoce. Quiere salvar a todos en necesidad. Ella es simplemente un ser humano único.

En junio de 2023 su vida cambió. Le diagnosticaron cáncer. Carcinoma ductal invasivo en etapa 3. Dos tumores rápidamente se convirtieron en seis y luego en ocho en un período de sólo sesenta días. Era un cáncer muy agresivo, dijeron. Su vida dio un giro en un instante. Mi hermosa hija, mi bebé, inició el viaje más difícil de su vida.

Pasó por cinco meses de quimioterapia que parecieron eternos. Fue muy duro ver a mi bebé sufrir tanto. Pero fue una inspiración verla aferrarse a Dios y mantenerse tan fuerte y tan positiva durante estos tiempos tan difíciles. Después de la quimioterapia llegó el momento de la cirugía. El 23 de febrero de 2024 se sometió a una doble mastectomía, le sacaron cuatro nódulos linfáticos afectados y le colocaron expansores de piel que es la primera etapa de la reconstrucción de senos. La recuperación fue muy difícil y aunque le dijeron que necesitaba 6 semanas de radiación después de recuperarse de la cirugía, estaba emocionada de poder ver la luz al final del túnel en este viaje contra el cáncer y se sentía más cerca de vencerlo y de poder tocar esa campana!

Todo parecía ir bien hasta hace unos días , el 15 de abril de 2024, cuando tuvimos que llevarla de urgencia al hospital con dolores en el pecho, dolores de cabeza horribles y su presión estaba por las nubes.

La ingresaron en el hospital y le hicieron múltiples estudios y pruebas para averiguar qué estaba pasando.

En medio de todo esto, su vida volvió a cambiar.

Encontraron una masa en el corazón de Nikole, en la aurícula derecha, muy sospechosa de metástasis, dijeron. Extremadamente raro. ¡Quedamos boquiabiertos! Tantas preguntas y emociones encontradas. Ni siquiera ha terminado el primer viaje y una vez más está a punto de iniciar otro. Fue realmente desgarrador, pero decidimos mantener nuestra fe fuerte y confiar en Dios y su propósito.

Varios cardiólogos discutieron sobre cirugía a corazón abierto, procedimientos de angiovac, biopsias, etc., pero todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que todos estos procedimientos tienen un riesgo muy alto para Nikole. Entonces la dieron de alta después de 10 días con un plan de atención médica y le dijeron que regresara en 6 a 8 semanas para repetir todas los estudios y luego crear un plan de acción dependiendo de los resultados de estos.

A Nikole le dijeron que de ahora en adelante no puede trabajar, que no puede tener ningún tipo de estrés en su vida ni puede exponerse a nada que exceda su corazón, y si la conoces, sabrás que mantener a sus hijos es su prioridad número uno en su vida. Así que el hecho de que no pueda hacer eso simplemente la estresa.

Si algo me ha enseñado todo esto es que mi Dios ha elegido a mi bebé para llevar la cruz por él en esta tierra, ella es especial, única en su especie, vehículo de su amor, y al fin y al cabo dará testimonios cuando este capítulo se cierre. Pero por ahora seguiremos orando por su fuerza y paz para cargar este peso.

Así que me dirijo a todos, familiares, amigos, personas que han conocido a Nikole o simplemente personas que quieren ayudarla en su causa, para que donen lo que puedan.

Cada poquito la ayudaría económicamente y aliviaría parte del estrés que surge con todo que está pasando y el camino que le a tocado recorrer.

Good day everyone , God bless you, I hope you all are doing well. I am reaching out today because my beautiful daughter Nikole needs our help. Nikole is a single mother with two amazing kids, that not only love her but need her and depend on her. She is the best mother I know and loves her kids more than anything in this world. She is a beautiful soul that ever since she was little has loved to help others and cared for others without expecting anything in return. She is smart, funny, independent, and a loving strong woman that lights up any room when she walks in. She is the life of the party, the singer , the dancer, the comedian, amongst other things. She is one of those people that is imposible to forget once you meet her. She always gives the best advice and can definitely touch your soul with her words of wisdom and encouragement. She has always been a vessel of God spreading love and kindness through out the world, even with people that she doesn’t even know. She wants to save everyone. She is simply a one of a kind human being.

In June 2023 her life changed. She was diagnosed with cancer. Invasive ductal carcinoma stage 3. Two tumors rapidly turned into six then turned into eight in a period of just sixty days. It was a very aggressive cancer they said. Her life was turned upside down in an instant. My beautiful daughter, my baby, started the roughest journey of her life.

She went through five months of chemotherapy that seemed eternal. It was very rough seeing my baby hurt so much. But it was so inspiring to see her hold on to God and stay so strong and be so positive through out these very hard times. After chemo it was surgery time. In February 23, 2024 She went through a double mastectomy surgery, they took out four affected lymph nodes and they put in skin expanders which is the first stage of breast reconstruction. Recovery was very tough and even though she was told she needed to do 6 weeks of radiation after recuperating from surgery, she was excited that she could already see the light at the end of the tunnel in this cancer journey, and felt closer to being able to ring that bell!

Everything seemed to be going smoothly until just a few days ago on April 15th 2024 when we had to rush her to the hospital with chest pains, horrible headaches, and her blood pressure was through the roof.

They admitted her to the hospital and did multiple scans and tests to find out what was going on.

In the midst of it all her life changed once again.

They found a mass in Nikole’s heart, In the right atrium, highly suspicious of metastasis they said. Extremely rare. Our jaws dropped ! So many encountered emotions and questions. She hasn’t even finished with the first journey and once again she is about to start another one. It was truly heart breaking but we chose to keep our faith strong and trust in God and his purpose.

Multiple Cardiologists discussed open heart surgery, angiovac procedures, biopsies, etc, but they all agreed that all these procedures are of very high risk for Nikole. So she was discharged after 10 days with a plan of care and was told to return in 6 to 8 weeks to repeat all the scans and then create a plan of action depending on the scan results.

Nikole was told that she is not able to work , have any kind of stress in her life or do anything that would over work her heart, and if you know her you know that providing for her kids is her number one priority in her life. So the fact that she is unable to do that simply stressed her out.

If all of this has taught me something, is that my God has chosen my baby to carry the cross for him in this earth, she is special, and one of a kind, a vessel of his love, and will give out testimonies after all of this is over. But for now we will keep praying for her strength and peace to carry this weight.

So I am reaching out to everyone, family members , friends, people that have known Nikole or just simply people that want to help her cause to please donate whatever you can.

Every little bit would help her financially and relieve some of the stress that comes from what she is going through and the path she was chosen to walk in.
