My name is Niko, and I am hoping to call on the help of my community in a time of need.

I am a 25 year old woman working my way into the field of education as a paraprofessional. My current circumstance has prevented me from getting my certification; due to the federal budget cuts to education, my employment was affected and I have been actively job seeking since August.

My husband is a veteran federal worker who was also affected by mass layoffs this year.

Combined with the massive weight of bills, debt, and rent, we now face eviction. Our leasing agency is asking us to pay over 8k in missing rent, most of which is cumulative fees.

Me and my husband have both been pursuing every avenue for financial assistance on top of applying to jobs every day.
