Love for Waikiki Nikki
Donation protected
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated, shared this post, prayed, reached out, and even had the chance to visit Nikki in the hospital. We are so happy to update you that Nikki is finally out of the hospital and has to moved into recovery and rehab at Magee Rehab Facility in Philadelphia, PA. She's been able to reconnect with her family and friends and most importantly her beloved furry companion, Kato.
At this time we are still unsure of Nikki's recovery process, although she is alive and with us. Post spinal and chest surgery she still does not have any sensation below her chest. As a young, active girl with no visual damage to her spinal cord, she has a lot working in her favor. During rehab Nikki will be working hard to regain her upper body strength and is challenging herself daily to ultimately regain her ability to walk again. She's come a long way and has been told her balance is amazing for someone with her level of spine injury. Just the other day she stood up for the first time, with the assistance of her physical therapists.
It’s going to be tough and continuous journey to get her legs moving again but Nikki is a tough, courageous woman. Your positive prayers and outreach are a constant reminder to Nikki that she is so loved and blessed to be here today. Thank you again to everyone who has contributed to this journey. No words can thank you enough for the strong support she has received over the past few weeks. Please continue to follow her journey on social media, as it is the most convenient outlet for us to reach you all.
Thank you all and God Bless!
