Nikki’s road to recovery after DV

Donation protected
UPDATE: 5-5-25
Nikki is home and recovering. But she has a long road. Her place of employment, Wal-Mart, has held her job but with her broken ribs and continued healing of her face injuries, she will not be able to return to work for several months. She is also experiencing new pain in her lower back, and will be getting that looked at to see if there is an additional injury that was overlooked. Additionally, she does not have health insurance and will be working on securing health insurance while she is recovering. She has returned to her home where she was assaulted. After the assault, Nate attempted to wash Nikki’s blood off of his shoes and while doing that, flooded the bathroom. The floor has since soaked up all of that water and is raised and uneven. So much so that you can’t close the door. Along with the condition her home was left in, plus the trauma she experienced there, she is looking into finding a small 2 bedroom for her and her daughter to move into. She wants to thank everyone for their support. Nate’s next court date is Thursday, May 8th at 1:30 at the Lincoln County Court House in North Platte, NE.

Nikki Fitch was severely beaten in the middle of the night on 4/26/25 by her significant other, Nathan Creel in North Platte, NE. Due to the severity of her injuries she was transported to Lincoln, NE and is now in the ICU. Confirmed, she has two broken ribs which punctured her lung and is collapsed, fractured facial bones, severe eye damage, and brain bleeding. They will be continuing to monitor her brain bleed, which will involve CAT scans to see the extent of the damage and help control the wound. Due to severe swelling and potential other injuries that may be discovered with additional scanning, recovery will be lengthy before she can go back to work.

It is just Nikki and her daughter. She doesn't have a financial support system, she supports her and her daughter by herself, which is why we are reaching out for help! Her teenage daughter and another relative will be staying in Lincoln until we know the extent of the damage and what recovery will look like, and they will need support with food and lodging as well. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be used for Nikki’s rent (so she has a place to come home to for recovery), utilities, medical, and travel.
