We are Southern Maryland Equine Miracles Rescue located in St. Mary's County, Maryland EIN 82-5500149

In 2023 we welcomed this sweet mare "Nikki" into our rescue family. She was found in bad situation with many other neglected horses. Nikki is insulin resistant and had suffered a severe founder which left her lame with a broken coffin bone.

After 1 full year of rehabilitation and with the help of our wonderful Vet team and farrier, we were able to get her sound and pain free.

She was adopted into a wonderful, loving family. Sadly, for all, she suffered an addition bone fracture. Due to her metabolic condition, she is prone to abscesses and bone damage. Her family allowed us to help save her by allowing her back into our Rescue Program.

We are now in hoping to provide her the medical injections needed for her to walk without pain. Without this treatment, we will need to make the difficult decision to euthanize. We can save her with your help!
