Nikki's fresh start
Donation protected
After more than 14 years, Nikki Beecroft is leaving MCF-Shakopee for the Ramsey County Workhouse, where she will transition back into society over the next year.
Nikki earned her cosmetology degree while at Shakopee prison, and is eager to launch her new career while on work release over the next year. However, in order to do so, she needs her own tools, including Wahl Clippers with attachments (around $90.00 - 150.00), shears, thinning shears, and feather razor (around $250.00 - 500.00). Eventually, she will also need blow dryers, combs, clips, and hot tools.
Additionally, Nikki will leave prison and enter the workhouse with nothing but jail/prison garb. She will need funds to buy basics such as underwear, bras, shoes, and socks. She will also need a modest but professional wardrobe for her days at work. Finally, like the rest of us, she is looking forward to some loungewear that belongs just to her, and isn't recycled in the laundry and given to someone else next week.
Nikki does not have a car. She will need money for public transportation to both find a job and go back and forth to work.
You may recall that Nikki's mother died of cancer just two weeks before her second trial. Her father has not been a part of her life for a very long time. She has very little in the way of a financial support system.
If you can contribute to launching her into a successful future, she and I would be grateful.
