Support for Nikki Stevenson’s son after her long battle

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jeff Wright and my wife’s sister, Nikki Stevenson, has lost her courageous battle with brain cancer. She was hospitalized and had her first emergency surgery in April 2020 for a glioblastoma tumour. She was given a grim diagnosis of 6 months to a year to live. Her surgery was followed by 30 days of brain radiation and 6 months of oral chemotherapy. Nikki was a warrior princess who rocked all the treatments with a smile on her face and no complaints. Nikki refused to accept the prognosis and I truly believe that her hope and optimism bought her extra time. She amazed everyone by surviving 3 years without a reoccurrence of the tumour. In January 2023 the tumour returned. Nikki had a second surgery in October 2023 and unfortunately this time, the surgeon was not able to remove all of the tumour. Even with this bad news she refused to give up and tried every treatment available. I am in awe of the strength of will she showed even after losing most of the ability to speak and then to move the right side of her body. I never saw her cry. In her last few months, we were able to go on a fabulous, bucket list trip to Las Vegas. After we returned from that trip she was out everyday enjoying the company of friends and family and wanting to go on long car rides to enjoy the beauty of everything around her. Her love for her son and the pure determination not to leave him carried her through all the treatments, appointments, hospital stays and MRI’s. I promised my sister I would always look out for her son and I will keep that promise out of love for her and for my nephew. I am reaching out to my friends and family to start a fund for my nephew to support him through this very difficult time in his life.  He graduated high school this June and we would use any money raised to help him get his start in life. Nikkis memory will live on through her only son. He was her whole world and she loved him unconditionally.
Remember my sister as a fun loving, life of the party, first to laugh, first to hug and last person to go home. She was the sensitive one. Nikki always wore her heart on her sleeve and gave love often and unconditionally. It was her idea to spend our last December together celebrating 30 days of giving. We had so much fun, passing out flowers, chocolates, cookies, hugs and compliments to strangers everyday.
Nikki loved to play with children, blow bubbles, feel the wind, look at the clouds and see the beauty in everything. My heart is irrevocably broken and I know many other hearts are as well. Think of Nikki when you see pink cherry blossoms. They were her favourite.
