Celebrating the Life of Nikki Dillon Morales
Donation protected
Nicole Amber Dillon Morales, Nikki as many of us knew her - was a force of nature. Strong, smart, sassy, and passionate, she left an impression on every person who crossed her path. On June 13, 2019, at the age of 31, Nikki lost her two-year battle with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST), a rare form of cancer.
People were drawn to Nikki’s zeal for life, thirst for adventure, and passion to make the world a better place. To her last days she was a committed political activist, Toastmaster, Phi Mu Fraternity volunteer, and supporter of the Life Raft Group, which serves to enhance the survival and quality of life for people with GIST. In the midst of her GIST battle, Nikki earned her MBA, traveled to the Mediterranean, and was a founding member of Stronger Together AZ, through which she organized an 800-person event that was instrumental in transforming the Arizona political landscape.
Nikki sought to experience life to its fullest. In her short 31 years, Nikki traveled the world and never missed an opportunity for adventure. She bungee jumped in New Zealand, skydived in Australia, and swam with great white sharks in South Africa. Everyone who met her was inspired by her bravery.
Nikki left people across the country and around the world mourning the loss of such a vibrant member of the global community. Help us remember Nikki and celebrate her life in her beloved collegiate city of Washington, DC. American University, Nikki’s alma mater, has graciously offered us the use of the Kay Spiritual Center for a Celebration of Life ceremony on July 27, 2019. This will be followed by refreshments and storytelling at Guapo’s, one of Nikki’s favorite hangouts during her time in DC.
We are hoping to raise above and beyond the amount necessary amount for this Celebration of Life. Nikki fought a two-year cancer battle with multiple hospital stays. We hope that any remaining funds can help alleviate any outstanding bills.
