Jesse (my partner) started off his 40th year by hitting a 7 month old puppy on the hwy accidentally with his car. With no visible wounds but unable to stand all the way she melted our hearts and kept wagging her tail...

The vet found a broken pelvis, fractured rib, and torn ligament. I'm told by the Okanagan vet that the surgery will cost $12,000-$15,000. Nikki's owner takes full responsibility but is limited in funds. We want to be able to help too.

You may know us, and like us, or not. You may have opinions about dog ownership practices. I kindly ask you keep all negative comments to yourself at this time. Personally I am only thinking about Nikki. We are a family that regularly gives to animal welfare organizations, which gave me the idea to ask for help from all of you!
