Nikki Arndt - Jones' Memorial Fund

Nikki Marie Arndt – Jones, age 27, of Evansville / Oregon, ultimately lost her battle with alcoholism on January 12th, 2019, surround by a room full of loved ones.

Never wanting to be defined or remembered by her addiction, Nikki dedicated her life to saving literally anything with a beating heart. The majority of her adult life was spent working for both the Rock and Dane County Humane Societies, where she was lucky enough to find, both, some of her favorite pets and best friends. Joined in matrimony on a hill-top park full of love, Nikki was fortunate enough to say “I Do” to her best friend, Jeremy, on June 3rd, 2017.

Having a heart of gold would merely be an understatement when describing Nikki’s character! Always doing her best to care for both 2 and 4-legged creatures, and to be serious, even sometimes 1 or 3, she wanted nothing more than to make a positive impact on every life she touched. She also very much loved to hunt and fish with her husband and late father, whom she missed profoundly. Nikki was additionally a great cook [as long as it contained chicken and alfredo sauce and didn’t require her to use a grill], but still somehow managed to clean fish and deer with the precision and accuracy of a seasoned butcher. When she wasn’t busy fighting to save animals or people, Nikki enjoyed listening to country music, hiking and swimming with her dogs, 4-wheeling, and spending time with her family – especially her friend’s daughter, Hope, and 5 nieces and nephews.

The happiness Mrs. Nikki Marie Arndt - Jones brought to everyone around her will be difficult to surpass, as will her compassion and the size of her heart. She inspired the individuals around her to want to be better people.

Nikki is survived by her incredibly loyal and amazing husband, Jeremy Jones; loving mother, Lori Arndt; and sister, Chelsea Arndt; her maternal grandparents, Frank & Frieda Bachim; Godparents Barbara Ace & Gene Arndt; brother-in-law, Joshua Jones; sister-in-law, Jammie Jones; mother-in-law, Kim Johnsrud; father-in-law, Gary Jones; and step-mother-in-law, Fran Jones; along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Arndt; paternal grandparents, MaryAnn & Leslie (Jack) Arndt; and aunts Carol Webb and Sherry Bachim.

A memorial gathering was held for Nikki at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Oregon, WI on Thursday, January 17th, 2019. We (her family) would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped with all of the set-up and planning for her visitation, and to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to attend and share their stories with us.

This fundraiser has been set up in hopes of collecting financial condolences to give to her husband, Jeremy Jones, in order to help cover the astronomical and unexpected medical expenses that were accrued during her final days. It will also be used for the memorial plaque that we would like to have placed below our father's/husband's, John Arndt, who passed, unexpectedly, just 15 months prior.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you from all of us;
Chelsea & Lori Arndt; Kim Johnsrud; and Jammie, Josh & especially, Jeremy Jones.

Fly high, Nikki <3 You will ALWAYS be loved!
