Help Nikita recover from surgery for twisted stomach

This is Nikita, she is a No Surrender alumni, and a very lucky girl.

On Friday the 21st of February, Nikita started to feel very ill, her owner rushed her to the emergency vet, where she was diagnosed with GDV (Gastric dilatation-volvulus), more commonly known as bloat or twisted gut. GDV is a deadly condition that can come on very rapidly in large dogs. In Nikita's case, a loop of her intestine had become wrapped around her spleen, cutting off blood flow. She needed immediate life-saving surgery.

Fortunately for Nikita, her owner caught her symptoms early and the surgery was a success!

Even better, her owner has pet insurance, so a large portion of her care was covered by that. A large portion, but not all. Her owner had to borrow $1743 CAD to cover the rest of the cost of her surgery.

We are fundraising to cover that original $1743 plus the cost of follow-up treatment. Nikita will need post-op vet appointments that her insurance will not cover, and any major surgery like this comes with the risk of side-effects that we want to be prepared for.

Any extra money raised will go to other animals still in No Surrender's care.

On the invoices below the $1000 is the deposit put down before Nikita's surgery. That $1000 was not reimbursed by Trupanion, along with the $744.93 show in the second invoice photo.
