With sad hearts we share the news of the passing of Nikita Heard on February 3rd. Nikita was a mother of 5 beautiful children and 3 grandchildren, a beloved and cherished daughter, a caring sister, and an incredible friend who left a deep impression on all who crossed her path.

 

In light of this sudden and heart wrenching news, Nikita's family and friends from the many communities of her life are gathering to celebrate the gift of knowing and loving this precious woman. Her legacy as a woman of generosity, compassion, and abundant love lives on. Nikita never met a stranger, she would lovingly care for others selflessly, no matter how big her own need was. Nikita's warm wit, inviting smile, and strong endearing personality brought joy and camaraderie to countless individuals throughout her lifetime.

 

This fundraiser was created to cover all funeral costs incurred by Nikita's family during this difficult time. This GoFundMe will enable her daughter, Raniqua McKnight, to provide all the necessary funeral arrangements; once those costs have been met, proceeds will be used to provide care for Nikita's remaining minor child Danyae Heard and settle Nikita's estate. Any residual donations will be dispersed equally among her other four children to offer them support during this time of bereavement. It is our hope that with enough open hearts together we can lighten the heavy load for her  family.

 

In order to help minimize funeral expenses we are asking that if you desire to send flowers, would please consider instead, giving the cost of the flowers directly into the GoFundMe account with a note to the family annotating "flower/decoration gift". At the memorial service your name will be displayed on an arrangement or special decoration.
