Niki's trip to the Nike Outdoor Nationals (NON)

Hi everyone!

I am Niki Boone and I am an aspiring cross country and track and field runner. I also play fast pitch softball, basketball, volleyball, and other sports in my free time. My passions are focused in my athleticism, as well as my education and other social activities and I aspire to one day be recruited for a D1 college in the near future for running or softball. I am currently finishing up my 8th grade year of middle school (2028 graduate) and am headed into my freshman year of high school in the Fall 2024. I have competed fiercely throughout my middle school XC and track seasons in 7th and 8th grade, and throughout the process, I fell further in love with competitive running. I helped our teams win district events both XC and Track seasons in 7th and 8th grade years by giving it 150% in every event I have competed in. I have run the 3200 XC meets both years, as well as the 2400, 1600, 800, and was the anchor of the 4X400m relay every track and field meet that I competed in, as well.

For fun this summer, I have decided to apply to compete in the NON, the Nike Outdoor Nationals, as a way to add to my college recruiting resume and to gain experience and to push myself to train more in the summer months before high school.

I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO COMPETE!!

It is going to truly be a great honor and such an exciting opportunity to step onto Hayward fields at the world-renowned track of the University of Oregon, in Eugene this summer. I cannot even believe that I am able to say this, but I am scheduled to run the 800m event on Thursday June, 13th, 2024 at 9:38am and I am just beyond excited for this amazing opportunity! I have setup this GoFundMe fundraiser to raise any and all extra money that I can to help contribute towards the expenses for this amazing opportunity. These expenses will include flight costs, hotel, car rental, entry bib fees, and any other unexpected costs to compete. This trip is being arranged on such a short notice, but we look forward to making it happen! Absolutely anything you can contribute is appreciated but even a wish of support is plenty enough for me! Also, any of the donated funds not utilized for this trip, I will plan on depositing into my college fund.

If you know me, you know that I am not taking this opportunity lightly and that I am a big fan the Nike brand (NIKE NIKI, lol).

So, I will begin my training with focus on the 800 meter event specifically NOW. I will be preparing to do my absolute best from now until "go time"!
