In Loving Memory of Niki

Niki (and her family) need YOUR help!

My name is Melanie, Marquida Nicole Brown-Egbowawa (known to all of us as Niki) is my little (big) cousin, she grew up with our 3 children and a host of other little cousins that she loves, and now she needs our help!

In September 2018 Niki fell unconscious and just like that her family’s lives changed dramatically.  She was rushed to the hospital and while in surgery her aorta ruptured.  The doctors were able to save her but have not been able to guarantee what her state of alertness and quality of life will be.  Since then Niki has been bed ridden and unable to follow commands.

Niki’s immediate family, husband Austin, mom Jan, and son Joshua have not lost faith, and neither have we!  They have pulled together to be with Niki every day and night at the hospital, to pray for Niki, to talk to Niki and to encourage Niki, they have faith that God will provide during this time in the midst of her need.  Niki is breathing on her own, she feels pain, and she responds to Joshua’s voice.  RIGHT NOW, WE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR HER MIRACLE.  Doctors are doing as much as they can to help her as well.  We are grateful to all of her doctors, nurses and caregivers at Medical City Dallas and Select Specialty Hospital.

However, now her husband, has run into problems with insurance, they do not have long term care coverage as part of their medical plan.  After 100 days, she will not be able to have the same care under their current insurance coverage.  She will not be able to stay in the facility she is currently in without your help!  Her family needs to prepare for the cost of her care moving forward.  Your donations, your giving, will help Austin provide the care for Niki that she needs!

Niki has always been a vibrant, funny, faithful and humble young woman.  Her smile lights up a room, her laughter is contagious.  She is originally from Mississippi, she has had a strong upbringing in the Lord that started at St. Mary FWB in McComb, MS.  She moved to Carlisle, PA with her mom when she was 12 years old.  In Carlisle, she attended Bibleway C.O.G.I.C., under Pastor Woodall.  She graduated from Carlisle High School and worked at Thornwald Nursing Home as a CNA.  Always kind, caring, giving and loving with her residents.  Niki went on to graduate in 2011 from University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Rehabilitation Services and counselling.  There she met her husband, Austin, who also graduated from UMES the same year.  They married in 2010 and upon graduation moved to Fargo, ND to begin their life together.  They have remained very much in love and devoted to one another for eight years.  In 2014 Joshua was born and they decided Niki would stay home with him.  They eventually moved to a warmer climate and currently reside in Dallas, TX.  For all of these years she has been devoted to caring for Joshua at home and being the wife Austin needs as well.  She’s an amazing Godly woman, wife and mother.

We are humbly asking for all of our friends, family and saints to help us support Niki and her family in their time of need.  Any amount you can give is helpful, nothing is too small!  Please feel free to share this post with others as well.

We thank you, in advance, for all of your support.  God bless each and every one of you!
