Just before Thanksgiving, Nika was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma: Breast cancer. She is currently undergoing cancer treatments in the form of chemotherapy and will soon start radiation.
Those who know the Ramos family are familiar with their tenacity and ability to gracefully walk through whatever trial that comes their way. This family is no stranger to hard times. Prior to this heartbreaking diagnoses, their life was finally on the right track. Nika was working as a sonographer and James was a counselor helping patients battle addictions. They have 3 young children and also support Nika’s brother and mother, for they all live under one roof.
This family is always the first to help out. The first to show up with gloves on ready to help friends move. The first to show up with a lawnmower ready to mow the lawn of a struggling neighbor. The first to prepare a meal for a sick church member. They go above and beyond the call of duty and are always giving back. Even in the midst of cancer treatments, they’re serving others and reaching out to those around them.
Several people have reached out to me asking how to help. They’ve denied financial help until this point, but they’re slowly becoming buried in the heap of medical bills and day-to-day expenses. James recently lost his job and is currently searching for a new one. Thus, for the time being, Nika is the primary breadwinner.
She is often too sick to work and the medical bills are piling up. I know many of their friends and family want to reach out in a more personal way, but right now this is what’s needed to help them stay afloat. Please consider donating and/or sharing to help this amazing family out! Any amount is appreciated. Thank you!
