I have owned and operated the bathhouse at 2199 Gottingen St, Night Spa, since 2022. This location has been a queer venue since 2003 although ownership has changed hands a few times. We are now a queer space that is thriving with over 5000 active members and are now being threatened of losing our space because the city is funding a non-profit to purchase the building out from under us.

Night Spa means a lot to many in this community. It is a unique queer space that once lost, may never be regained here in Halifax. It also employs 7 employees who are all either trans, queer, or single mothers, who all depend on this space. He will be deciding what to do with the building in early March. We are asking for our members' and the community's help to raise funds to save this space.

I am good friends with the owner of the building who has agreed to consider making an alternative arrangement so that we can purchase the building instead but we need to raise some money fast for a down-payment.
