Nighto Needs Wheels NNW
Hi everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. As many of you know, my father Brian Nightingale suffered a broken back after he had a bad fall at his Kelso home at the end of 2016. Brian's health suffered after this incident and in January 2018 he was taken from Bathurst base hospital and placed into Opal aged care nursing home where he has been ever since. With near 12 months of physiotherapy and hard work to try and get back on his feet, we had the shocking news late 2018 that he would never walk again and be wheel chair bound for the rest of his life. Brian has been a very active member of the Bathurst sporting and social scene, being named a Bathurst living legend in 2016, he has also been heavily involved in motorsport and sporting media for as long as I can remember.
We want Nighto to be able to have a second lease of life and not to be stuck in his wheelchair in a nursing home till times end. We are anxiously trying to raise funds to purchase Nighto his own wheelchair mobility vehicle so he can be transported around without hassle and be able to have a sense of freedom back with the end goal of hopefully getting him back into his own place with the additional care that he needs. Brian is unable to get in and out of his wheelchair unassisted without a machine, so it is impossible to get him into any other vehicle that is not a disability vehicle.
All money raised will go into purchasing a second hand disability vehicle for Nighto, any additional funds if raised, will be used to buy a portable hoist to be able to lift him in and out of his wheelchair in a hope for him to get back to his own home. If you can even find $1 to donate, this would go a very long way. If anyone would like to get involved in fundraising or have any ideas how you can help, please send me a message.
Thank you very much for your time.
