Logline:

After a Father tells his child stories out of his life he must decide whether he can finally show him the beauties of nature. This decision comes with a price as the world around them has drastically changed.

Story:
A young man finds himself, laying in a cornfield, gazing at the orange-hue-filled sky when a bird starts flying around him. Seemingly trying to communicate with him, he begins to follow it when mysterious female hands begin to hug his body (mother nature). Leaving a trail of dust on his shirt, he turns around and finds himself in a forest. The bird shows up again and he begins to chase it. Chasing it both through the forest and the cornfield relentlessly, seemingly simultaneously. In the forest the bird flies across a cliff, the young man takes a leap of faith in hopes of catching it, but fails and falls into the water. Suddenly he finds himself standing in a valley feeling the heavy rain falling onto his face. In the cornfield he is still chasing the bird as colourful dust starts exploding into the air around him. Afterwhich the bird is nowhere to be seen and he begins to feel the dust falling onto him. He stops, and finds that the dust is the same one which he felt being spread on him by the mother nature before. Suddenly we find the same young man in a club. The neon lights are flashing in his face, almost blinding him. He looks around and realizes that everyone in this club is wearing Virtual Reality Masks. His friends tap him on his shoulders in an attempt to get him onto the dance floor. They leave him. Unsure, he looks at the Virtual Reality mask which he has in his hands. He looks around and finds everyone in the club has these virtual reality masks on except a girl standing in the corner by herself. they make eye contact and smile awkwardly, both accepting they are outsiders in this setting. Despite this they both put on the mask together, to try out what this experience is like. They spend the night together dancing and eventually a countdown starts running. Everybody in the club is shouting in excitement and euphoria as the young man and the girl just stand still, she holds his hand and lays her head on his shoulder. The countdown reaches 0 and we see "Welcome to 2063" written on the screen now. Neon confetti gets thrown around, but still, our characters are still and take in the beauty which they are experiencing in their VR mask. We suddenly hear for the first time this man talking as he is tucking a child into bed. Visually we can see he has aged and realize that it is his child. The man goes to the window to clean it. Before he opens it he puts on a oxygen mask but we only understand why he does this when he opens the window. As he opens it dust spews into the room and we see the world has decayed into a lifeless, dust filled rock in which there is no nature to be seen. The child asks the dad to see nature, as that is the only thing which excites it. The child has never seen nature and complains how it is unfair that he grew up around it. The man shakes it off and tells the child it is not possible because of how the world had changed. The child remarks however, that the mother promised that when it was old enough they would show her, insinuating the child knows the man is hiding the truth about the ability to see nature.

The rest of the story will be revealed in the release of the short film, we dont want to spoil everything :)
