After many successful charity hikes for different charities over the years and raising lots of funds and support for the charities Nigel and barry have decided to do an epic charity hike for Rutherford house which is run by an amazing charity Durham mineworkers homes association who house and supports miners our aim is to raise funds for a new garden project for the residents and to fund some activates at Rutherford house and there will be some very long distance nonstop hiking and camping on the way and some of the charity hike will from colliery to colliery in total it will be 502 plus miles of walking and hiking and some 24 hours hiking All support will be much appreciated Nigel will be doing the long distance charity hikes totally solo if anyone would like to join the charity hike at any point just let Nigel know in advance the charity number is 1191033 Durham mineworkers homes association our facebook page . stage ( 1 ) October 23 till 24

Nigel will be doing the hiking and walking totally solo this hike will be a nonstop hike Durham cathedral to tommy sculpture at seaham then to Easington colliery then on to blackhall colliery and on to Rutherford house 35 miles total 2 days or less

stage ( 2 ) October 27 till 29 October

Derwent reservoir hiking around circular then on to Barnard Castle and on to shildon and from Barnardos tow law to Durham cathedral total 77 miles in 3 days or less

stage ( 3 ) November 15 till 23 November

Nigel will be doing the hiking totally solo Bowness on solway to north shields beach then to tommy at seaham and on to Easington colliery and from there to Rutherford house a lot of stage 3 will be on Hadrian wall total 126 miles nonstop all the way 9 days or less

stage ( 4 ) January 29 till 20 February 2027

Nigel will be hiking all of this solo nonstop hiking and walking . coniston to manchester and on to Darlington then on to the locomotion museum at shildon 224 in 21 days or less

stage ( 5 ) February till 27 February

Saltburn cliff tramway to Easington colliery and on to Rutherford house 40 miles in 30 hours or less

Total 502 plus miles over 37 days or less
