Help Nigel beat Intussuseption
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Boris. I am hoping to raise funds to help me cover the ongoing costs of attempting to save my 1.5 year old dog's life.
On May 3, 2025 Nigel suddenly becamevery unwell. Usually, a lightning bolt of a dog with endless energy, overnight turned into a lethargic shell of himself, he even refused to eat! His condition worsened during the day, I was at work... When I finally got home it was clear that he had to go to the emergency clinic. I took him there, his blood work was clean and x-rays inconclusive. The veterinarian suspected an intestinal blockage. I couldn't afford the ER clinic prices for the surgery so I asked that they hospitalize him until I can take him to his veterinarian the next day(Sunday). The vet immediately performed surgery and discovered that Nigel had intussusception. Surgery went well and the issue was resolved. Nigel seemed to be recovering for the next few days.
Those days were not without incident as it took him 4 days to finally have a bowel movement. Four days after surgery, he finally defecated. I was never in my life happier about poo... that was a good sign.
Unfortunately, the joy was short lived as he started vomiting shortly after. His condition kept improving then taking a turn for the worse intermittently until Monday, May 12'th. That morning he refused to eat and I had to hospitalize him again that day. Depending on the study one looks at, odds of reoccurrence of intussusception are between %10-%20. Nigel was unfortunate in this matter and is poised to undergo a second surgery to try and correct his ailment.
He is a young happy go lucky dog with, hopefully, a whole lifetime ahead of him. He doesn't deserve this pain and suffering he is going through. I have already spent over $7000 trying to save his life. The veterinarian is willing to work with me and is giving me a massive discount on the second surgery. I need all the help I can get to give Nigel a second chance at life. Please, if you are able to, help me help him.
Thank you!
