Hi, my name is Megan. I’m making this fundraiser on behalf of my twin sister Morgan and her sweet family.
Last saturday, Morgan went into pre-term labor at 29 weeks. She was started on medicine to slow labor as well as steroids and other medicine to help prepare the baby for an early delivery if it came to that. These medications are only able to be used for a few days. There was also concern about the placement of the umbilical cord and an emergency c-section was discussed.
They discontinued the medicine on Tuesday morning and labor progressed. Riley began having decelerations in her heart rate during contractions due to where the umbilical cord was located. Early afternoon, Morgan’s water broke and labor progressed quickly from there. At her last cervix check the nurse could feel the umbilical cord in front of the baby’s head. Things got very hectic as nurses and doctors rushed in the room preparing to take her for an emergency c-section. Once her OB evaluated the situation, she saw that the baby was already coming and there was no time. She talked Morgan through what was the most intense labor as she was trying to maneuver the cord and baby out without endangering baby Riley. She was born at 7:36 weighing 3lbs 2.3oz and she was 15.5in long. She was taken straight to the NICU where she will stay for an extended amount of time.
Mama and baby are doing as well as can be but they have a long road ahead of them. We are asking for prayers over Morgan and Robert and their entire family during this time. The Glenn family is so lucky to have so many people that love them and I am hoping that we can lift some of the financial burden that they are going to be facing from Morgan’s hospital stay as well as Riley’s ongoing NICU stay.
