This year I've decided t step out of my comfort zone & run the Manchester 10K.As many of you know or this may become a shock...
Last year 29th August my life changed completely after a having a black out behind the wheel, whilst I was 24 weeks pregnant, the paramedics came to the screen, was then to St Mary's Hospital Manchester. I had an emergency c-section, I had a beautiful formed Baby girl, we called Chloe Jane.
after being in theatre 6 hours, I lost 3.5 litres of blood, had to have 6 blood transfusions, 2 units of cryoprecipitate & 4 units fresh frozen plasma.
whilst I was recovering from theatre, the consultant told us our baby girl was very poorly & suffered severe brain damage, the damage was so bad , she would never recover we had to make the hardest decision of our lives, turning her ventilator off, this was heartbreaking or lives had just turned upside down.
shortly after being discharge from hospital & Chloe's passing, my mum took ill the day we went for Chloe's death certificate, mum was taken to hospital, my mum, my best friend became extremely unwell, spent some nights beside her bed side as we were told by consultants mum had only a few days left, I was completely heartbroken, at this time Hendri ( my husband) & I were also arranging Chloe's funeral. Mum was only in hospital for 5 days, passed away. My life shattered I lost my baby girl and my mum in a space of a week & 5 days, then 2 funerals, the tears were endless, now I have to think my mum is looking after Chloe. I can honestly say this has been the most traumatic time of my life. I miss them both so very much, I have good & bad days.
after Christmas last year, I thought I'll like to do manchester 10k, whatever I get I'll fundraise, I'll like the money to go to St Marys hospital NICU Unit where Chloe spent her days, help to get a new piece equipment in memory of our baby girl Chloe Jane.
Any donations little or large would be massively appreciated !!
I have started to build up my running & with help from Natalie Dixon fitness I'm building up my fitness levels. I would like to also thank those who help me, push me and encourage me to keep going!!
love you all, see you at the finish line. Lindsey xxx
