Honoring Nicholas Isaac

Nicolas Omari Isaac, known as Nico, was loved by many. He was a son, nephew, cousin, friend, and community member, who loved to laugh and bring laughter to others, and who was always in pursuit of his next goal.
Nico began his artistic journey at the age of 8 through the Rush Kids program, attended Arts & Letters middle school where he continued his creative passions, and also took classes at Pratt Institute. Nico took part in internships with Art Start, Groundswell, Reconnect, and Theatre of the Oppressed NYC, through which he contributed to community murals, acted in theater shows, learned screen printing, woodwork, and sculpture, and fine-tuned his visual arts talents as well, even selling one of his original paintings to benefit a charity. Nico also demonstrated his artistic skills as a tattoo artist and had a knack for applying his creative talents to entrepreneurship and business.
In addition to his passions for the arts, Nico was involved with Neighbors in Action and volunteered with Save Our Streets Brooklyn, through which he supported anti-gun violence organizing and helped host community events promoting peace and unity.
His life was tragically cut short at the young age of 23, but his memory will be kept alive by the many people who knew and cared for him, and through the many positive contributions he made to his community.
