Nicol's Urgent Citizenship Journey

Hi everyone,

It's Nicol here, and I'm raising funds to pay for the costs of my U.S. naturalization process. Becoming a U.S. citizen has been a long-term goal of mine—something deeply personal and meaningful. This country has given me countless opportunities, and has allowed me to form meaningful relationships as well as has given me the opportunity of reuniting with both my parents and my three siblings.

Unfortunately, I was recently laid off, which has made it even more difficult to afford the $710 fee required for the naturalization application and biometric services. While I’ve been doing everything I can to stay afloat, this moment in my life is full of both uncertainty and hope.

Given the current political climate, becoming a U.S. citizen feels more urgent than ever. With immigration policies constantly shifting and growing concerns about the rights of non-citizens, I want to secure my future, protect myself, and have a voice in the decisions that shape our communities. Citizenship means stability, safety, and the ability to fully participate in the country I’ve called home for the past 8 years.
