My name is Nicolette, and I applied to go on a medical and dental hybrid trip to Nicaragua through MSU's Global Brigades chapter. Through this trip, volunteers set up a clinic in underprivileged areas so citizens of these countries can receive the adequate health care they both lack and deserve. This trip seemed extremely rewarding and an eye-opening experience to go on before I apply for graduate school to become a Physician Assistant, and when I found out I got accepted, I was ecstatic. I will have the opportunity to take patient vitals and family history in triage, shadow licensed doctors, and even assist in the pharmacy (under supervision, of course.) My parents agreed to this trip, and to say I'm excited to have hands-on experience in the medical field is an understatement! Every donation counts to help me fund this trip, so I've set up a GoFundMe.
