Nicolette's Fight Against Cancer

Hi! My name is Gabby. As many of you know, my sister Nicolette has Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. If you know Nicolette, you know how lovable and smiley she is all the time. She is the youngest daughter of Lupe and Eddie and my younger sister. Not only is Nico lovable, she’s also a fierce and mighty chica who wants nothing more than to see other people strive in the world. Nico is my best friend who I’ve been kind of stuck with since 1994, but I love her! She is a loyal friend with a pack of friends who have been with her since they were little nerdy middle schoolers, she will always stand up for her friends, be a shoulder to cry on or go on long hikes with and explore new things. Nico is that go to friend that is down for ANYTHING, and I mean anything. If you want to go for a long drive and get some tacos, sing your lungs out to Bad Bunny on FaceTime, have an impromptu photo shoot on the beach with, or just hang out on the porch and get bitten by a mosquito - she’s that person.

We are hoping to help raise money for Nico’s medical expenses and reduce the financial stress we'll experience while under treatment. My parents and I expect to alternate leaves of absence from work, which will be unpaid. No one knows what life will bring or what cards we’re being dealt with but we could have never imagined that our baby would be diagnosed with Cancer. She is strong and has such a loving and supportive team behind her consisting of friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, and even people we have never met. We created this fund for those who have asked how else they can help us give our sister one less stress. Any donation will be greatly appreciated by all of us.

In June, we found out Nico had Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. Then in July she had a full radical hysterectomy to remove a bunch of tumors that took over her little body and we learned the cancer progressed to Stage 4. In August, Nico starts her cycles of chemotherapy. The next months will be unimaginably hard for Nico and our family. Thankfully, Nico has an amazing medical team behind her with a bilingual oncologist, kind nurses and doctors who have been very supportive and patient with her and our family. They have told us that this journey will be a tough battle, but Nico is even tougher and we will all fight with her! We need all of the positivity and prayers to bring our girl out of this ugly illness.
