Hello, I'm Nicole's Mom and have been by her side throughout this crazy journey the past few months, along with the rest of her family and friends. I'd like to see if we can help her ease the burden of the unexpected expenses incurred by her recent medical issue with Kidney Cancer. Here's her story...

In December after having some stomach and digestive issue's that had been ongoing, Nicole scheduled an appointment with her regular doctor. After an exam, bloodwork and x-rays, her doctor sent her to the local hospital to have a CT scan. A few hours later she received the call from her doctor that they spotted a mass on her kidney and her white blood cell count was elevated. They suspected CANCER. As you can imagine that is not what any of us had even considered, maybe Gall Bladder or IBS but not cancer! After a 5 minute appointment that was a complete waste of time and got our hopes up that they could freeze it off, we finally got to meet with Dr. Pate, the surgeon. He gave her two options 1) Continue to monitor it and remove once it got large enough to spread, which could be 10 years. 2) Remove it and any surrounding part of the kidney now and be done with it, no additional treatment needed. She chose option 2. On March 4th Dr. Pate successfully removed it without needing to take the entire kidney. She's healing well and will not need any further treatment, only follow-ups. She's also realized that this many very well have been causing her digestive issues due to the location of the mass. Listen to your body, if something isn't right get it checked out!
