Nicole's 30th Birthday Skiing Misfortune

Donation protected
Nicole had the most unlikely and unfortunate injury last weekend in Breckenridge, Colorado where she was spending the weekend with us (her boyfriend and friends). It was her first time skiing and we were all super excited for the experience.

We explained how to get off the ski lift for the very first first time on Friday morning, which Nicole executed perfectly, only to then be bumped into from the side at walking pace. Her ski pole impaled her in a sensitive area as she fell which caused swelling and internal bleeding.

Nicole then skied all the way down a green run like a natural, only falling once. But the pain quickly became intense and as soon as we reached the bar/rest rooms, we sought medical help. After examination, it became apparent that she was going to need more than ice and she was rushed to hospital where she required surgery and needed to be cared for overnight.

Over 24 hours in a labor and delivery ward instead of skiing with her friends wasn't how she envisaged her 30th Birthday to turn out, but she felt much love and support.

The hospital bill came through at $4,553.53, of which she needs to pay $4,000 herself. Adding insult to injury.

If any of Nicole's friends would like to help out, it would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small.

Thank you so much,
Nicole's friends & boyfriend (Jack, Christie, Aaron, Christian, Forrest, Kaveh, Patrick, Matt & Vanessa)
