This is baby Mataya. She was born via c-section on January 17th 2016. She weighed 7lbs 12.5ozs and was 20 1/4" long,
    She was flown from Bemidji, MN to Fargo ND that same day due to inhaling some fecal matter into her lungs during the c-section. After being in Fago and doing some further testing they found that she had a collasped lung and normal treatments weren't working to open it back up so they did a CT scan and found a large mass in her chest cavitity and that was preventing the lung from opening. The mass is wrapped around her spine, aorta and main blood vessels.
     They did surgery to get a biopsy of the mass and the preliminary results from that biopsy are looking like Neuroblastoma which is a type of cancer. Today (1/26/16) baby Mataya is getting her first Chemo treatment. The full test results are not back as of this time but they are starting the treatment to prevent it from starting to squeeze her spine which could prevent her from being able to walk, not an issue as of yet but a little bit of preventative care to stay on top of it. She will get 5 days of Chemo and then 1 week of monitioring and may get to go home for a week if all goes well with the treatment and then will be going back to Fargo for more treatments each lasting 2 weeks. This will  be an ongoing process  with many  trips back and forth for a while and all money donated will go to help with medical and travel expenses.
