On Wednesday morning, March 13th, our hearts dropped when we heard that Nicole was ambushed and shot repeatedly by her ex-fiancee, in Orange, California. Despite her severe injuries, tremendous blood loss, and unimaginable pain, she bravely and calmly called 911 to report her own attempted murder and provided critical suspect information.
Thankfully, Nicole survived due to the outstanding response and care by Orange City Police Officers, Orange City Fire Department Paramedics, and phenomenal care by the nurses, and doctors at the University of California Irvine Hospital, which has already performed 5 lifesaving surgeries.
Nicole, in spite of her significant wounds, ongoing discomfort, and long road of recovery ahead, has never complained and remains heroically committed to returning to caring for others an an Oncology (cancer) nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange.
This amazingly strong and determined woman faces a long journey of healing in every way, and will require extensive assistance medically and financially.
