Hi, I'm Nicole Cabrera Castillo. I'm 29 years old and Valentina's mother, who just turned 1 year old and recently learned to call me Mamà. I am the wife of Álvaro Ordóñez. Together we started our small family, in the north of the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador.
About five months ago I noticed a small growth the size of a pea near the clavicle. At first the doctor thought it was a swollen node and I received anti-inflammatory medication. But 1 month ago it suddenly grew, and became a tumor that makes it difficult for me to breathe. Frightened, I immediately went to the doctor, who when examining me, urgently requested tests (tomography, ultrasound, laboratory tests, among others). I also underwent a biopsy and an immunohistochemical study. The tests show that I have a malignant cancer known as Hodgkins lymphoma. Now I urgently need to make up time and win the battle against cancer. I have to undergo chemotherapy, bone marrow analysis, PT scan, and purchase very expensive medications to overcome this disease. I have always been a hard working woman, I love my little daughter, and I want to fight with all my strength to see her grow up. My whole family is helping me and close friends, too. I know that in order for me to win the battle against cancer, we are going to need more help.

Hola, soy Nicole Cabrera Castillo tengo 29 años, soy mamá de Valentina, quien apenas tiene 1 año de nacida y hace poco aprendió a decirme Mamà. Soy esposa de Álvaro Ordóñez. Juntos iniciamos nuestra pequeña familia, en el norte de la ciudad de Guayaquil – Ecuador.
Hace aproximadamente cinco meses noté en mi cuerpo una bolita cerca de la clavícula, que comenzó a crecer con el paso del tiempo. Al principio se pensó que era un ganglio inflamado y recibí antinflamatorios; pero hace 1 mes atrás creció de una manera repentina, lo que comenzó como una simple bolita llegó a ser un tumor que me dificulta respirar. Asustada, de inmediato acudí a un médico clínico, mismo que al examinarme, solicitó de manera urgente unos exámenes (tomografía, ecografías, exámenes de laboratorio, entre otros), posterior a esto se me realizó una biopsia y una prueba de inmunohistoquímica la cual dio como resultado un tumor maligno diagnosticado como linfoma de Hodgkin. Ahora Urgentemente necesito recuperar tiempo y ganarle la batalla al cáncer. Tengo que someterme a quimioterapias, análisis de la médula, examen de PT scan y adquirir medicamentos muy costosos para poder superar esta enfermedad. Siempre he sido una mujer trabajadora, amo a mi pequeña hijita y quiero luchar con todas mis fuerzas para verla crecer; toda mi familia me está ayudando y amigos cercanos. Pero para salir no podremos solos.
