Nicole DeNardin’s Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund
Donation protected
On September 1, 2019, Hurricane Dorian hit as a Category 5 with 185mph sustained winds - the second strongest Atlantic hurricane on record and the strongest to ever hit The Bahamas. It made a catastrophic impact to Elbow Cay where my best friend, Nicole DeNardin, has made her home for over a decade, dedicating her time serving children with special needs as a teacher at Every Child Counts.
Nicole is alive and safe , which I am incredibly thankful for, but her home with all of her possessions and community are destroyed beyond comprehension. She has had only minimal contact with her parents to let them know she's ok. As of Thursday, I was informed she is being evacuated from Hope Town but not sure where to. The conditions left on the island are apocalyptical - nothing was spared.
Nicole is the most compassionate loving person, pouring so much of her heart into nurturing: her students at ECC, the Special Olympic community, family & friends, and animals - of any kind (she goes out of her way to save hermit crabs from being run over on the island streets, takes in injured and rescues animals). She cares for so much with every fiber of her being. It is our turn to show our love for her during this time of need. Please help Nicole recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian by providing donations of any amount for her relief efforts. Please continue praying for her safety.
Thank you for your generosity, love, and support!
