Our dear friends and LUSA soccer family, Nicole and Gary Reid, received news about one and a half months ago that their sweet, brave Lexi at 26 years old, has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) — a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. This diagnosis has turned their world upside down.
What began as unexplained fatigue, and not feeling well quickly escalated into a heartbreaking diagnosis. Since then, Lexi has been in the hospital, undergoing painful tests, intense chemotherapy, and will undergo a bone marrow transplant.
But despite everything, with the support of her amazing family, mom, dad, brother Jake, and boyfriend Carter, she continues to fight with more courage than most of us could ever imagine.
Nicole is the core of LUSA. She is the glue that keeps us together, organized and on track. She is dedicated, passionate about helping each of us at LUSA, staff, volunteers and members, and we rely on her in so many ways. She needs our help.
Why We Need Your Help
The road ahead is long and uncertain. The financial strain of this journey is overwhelming for Nicole and Gary. As they need to be close to Lexi, they are staying in Vancouver. As you know, this cost alone is massive.
We are humbly asking for your support to help ease this burden so that focus on what matters most: caring for Lexi as that’s all that matters in their world right now.
Every Dollar Makes a Difference
No donation is too small — and every single one is deeply appreciated. If you're not able to donate, please consider sharing Lexi’s story with your friends, family, or community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Lexi during the fight of her life. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity mean more than words can express.
Thank you!
