My sons name is Nicolas Barron, he likes to go by Nick. He is the sweetest loving little boy you'll ever meet. He is 11, almost 12 next week! He likes to play soccer, ride his bike and play video games. He loves playing outside with all the neighbor kids! Recently, he started having aches and pains that were unexplainable... First his leg, then his shoulder, then his chest was aching. After multiple trips to the pediatrician and E.R., we were sent down to have his bone marrow checked. The doctors called us and said he had cancer and needed to come back to the hospital immediately. Nick was diagnosed with Leukemia on May 28,2015. We've been here ever since... Nick has had to do a lot of hard thinks. One of them is taking the meds. I'm not ashamed to admit I've had to resort to bribery! Nick has always wanted an Apple I-pad, so I told him if he takes all his medicine, when we go home I'll buy him one.... They are expensive, so I figured hopefully we could raise enough money to buy one! I appreciate any donations that we receive, Thank You!
So, an update... My Co-Workers at Costco #771, raised enough money and bought my son the I-pad Air that he wanted!!! It just goes to show how much of a family we are! Thanks everyone! So I'm sure the money we are raising here will be used for other costs associated with extensive hospital stays!!!
Thanks again!!
Just another update..... It's a good thing we raised money because his new meds are not completely covered and are expensive! Thanks again for your donations they helped get us to this point!
2020-
Today is November 19, 2020... 30 days ago, we got the worst news possible.. nick has had a relapse.. his cancer has come back.. On October 20th we started the induction phase of chemotherapy and it has been hard on his body. Because of the meds, he got E-coli and ended up in the ICU and struggled with sepsis..
He recovered from that but his white blood cells didn’t and stayed in the hospital.. he then contracted a staphylococcus infection and went back to the ICU... he suffered from pneumonia and a partial collapsed lung.. we got him through it... he is a fighter, but it hasn’t been easy.. you all have no idea.. having to rehabilitate him after being in a dense fog of dilaudid and delirious conversations we are now back on the peds side of the hospital... we are taking it one day at a time and he is still fighting high fevers at night... a lot of people have inquired if he has a GoFundMe and since I created this one 5 years ago I decided to resurrect it! I will try to keep you all updated on his recovery journey once again... thank you for all your positive comments and prayers!
