Hello everyone!

My name is Nicola Caminiti and I'm a Latin-Grammy Nominated New York based Italian saxophonist and composer.

I'm starting this fundraising as a financial support for the release of my debut album "Vivid Tales of a Blurry Self-Portrait" which will come out this year on May 10th.

Being able to share my music with the world has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and I'm so excited for all of you to listen to this work!!

The album has already been recorded and I've covered the recording studio, musicians and mixing/mastering expenses myself.

Your kind donations will help me towards covering PR cost, CD printing expenses and social media campaign, which have been pressing quite a lot on my financial situation in the past 2 months or so.

About the album... “Vivid Tales of a Blurry Self-Portrait” is a non-chronological narration of my journey in this world. Each track featured on this album represents an encounter, a feeling, a tangible life experience. These songs are Vivid Tales that shaped, changed, dismantled and reconstructed my persona to be who I am today. Despite all of these tangible experiences, it has been difficult, at times, to fully understand who I am… How could I fit into a system of stereotypes and role-models that I don’t picture myself a part of? It feels like looking into a blurry self-portrait.

It features the amazing Lex Korten on piano, Ben Tiberio on double bass and Miguel Russell on drums

This journey has been an incredible lesson and an opportunity to look deeper into myself and I'm very grateful for all who supported me, and will support me in order to achieve this dream of mine!

Mi chiamo Nicola Caminiti e sono un sassofonista e compositore italiano di base a New York.

Sto avviando questa raccolta fondi per supportare l'uscita del mio primo album, "Vivid Tales of a Blurry Self-Portrait" che sarà rilasciato il 10 maggio di quest'anno.

L'album è già stato registrato e sono riuscito a coprire le spese dello studio di registrazione, dei musicisti e del mix/master con le mie forze.

Le vostre gentili donazioni mi aiuteranno a coprire i costi dell'ufficio stampa, le spese di produzione dei CD fisici e la campagna sui social media, che negli ultimi due mesi circa hanno inciso non poco sulla mia situazione finanziaria.

Il disco vede la partecipazione di alcuni dei miei migliori amici e artisti più affermati della scena di New York: Lex Korten al pianoforte, di Ben Tiberio al contrabbasso e di Miguel Russell alla batteria.

Qualche parola sull'album... "Vivid Tales of a Blurry Self-Portrait" è una narrazione non cronologica del mio viaggio in questo mondo. Ogni brano contenuto in questo album rappresenta un incontro, una sensazione, un'esperienza di vita tangibile, sono racconti vividi (vivid tales) che mi hanno plasmato, cambiato, distrutto e ricostruito fino a farmi diventare la persona che sono al giorno d'oggi. Tuttavia, nonostante tutte queste esperienze tangibili, a volte è stato difficile comprendere appieno chi sono... Come potermi inserire in un sistema di stereotipi e modelli di cui non mi vedo parte. Mi sembra di guardare un autoritratto sfocato (a blurry self-portrait).

Questo viaggio ha rappresentato un'opportunità per scoprire me stesso più a fondo e sono molto grato a tutti coloro che mi hanno sostenuto e mi sosterranno per realizzare questo mio sogno!
