Boston Marathon 2019
My name is Nicolas Nieboer. I am 20 years old and am from Kalamazoo, Michigan. I was born with spina bifida so I am paralyzed from the waist down. When I was 7 years old I got my very first handbike. I was so excited, and it has proved to be a huge blessing for me. I ride it everywhere. The last year through your support I was able to achieve my first goal which was to purchase a new TOP END K-Force hand cycle. Accomplished! Thanks to so many of you who have been so gracious and generous in supporting me, Thank you! I have joined the Hand Cycling Team at Mary Freebed and have competed in several races this past year with my new teammates. It was at the Grand Rapids Marathon where I qualified for the Boston Marathon. Ultimately, my dream is to be in the Paralympics, but I have a many steps to take and a ton of training to do. My next step in this journey is the Boston Marathon. Besides the cost of the race entrance fee, as well as travel and lodging expenses, I hope to purchase a set of new Carbon fiber rims (3 needed for a bike like mine), which are a costly purchase of close to $2000, but they needed if I want to compete well. Your support means the world to me and if you could help me out and donate it would be very appreciated.
