This summer, I am going to be riding my bicycle from Boston to New Orleans.
I have never done something like this but have wanted to for many years. This summer feels like the best time to take this journey.
My goals for this trip are to perform at various venues, showcase artwork, collaborate with artists and non-artists, and ultimately meet new people.
I have had a lot of trouble with falling into cycles of depression my whole life. Many of this occurs from feeling limited where I am. I know this country is beautiful and I want to see it. I don't want to wait for the "right time" because who knows if that time will ever come. I am making this the right time.
We hear so much of how terrible America continues to get everyday based on this awful political climate. It's a very sad and scary time. However, when I think of community, I think of human connection, music making, singing on the street, riding around in the park, etc. Connecting with others is extremely important and I want to share myself with the people of this world.
SO... I am taking this trip on a bike because this way I am in contol of where I go and how long it takes me to get there. It is my mental and physical power that will get me through whatever obstacles I come across.
I am asking for $1000 (or more I won't mind) to be used primarily towards food, but also to be used in case of some sort of emergency.
I will be documenting this trip, creating art the entire way, and will be excited to share my experiences with you.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. I understand that this could potentially be dangerous if I am not able to take care of myself properly. Please help a young boy travel the country safely with the hopes of making someone's day better. Thank you very much.
