My husband (Nick) has been in the hospital since August 4th, fighting liver failure. We have been at Duke Hospital since August 30th, undergoing an emergency liver transplant evaluation. My husband is the sole provider for our family of 5. This whole situation has put a huge strain on us financially. Duke is asking us to raise $2500 to $4500 for relocation fees. If he does qualify for the transplant and insurance approves the procedure, we'll have to relocate for a minimum of 30 days after he's discharged from the hospital. He has to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital for at least 30 days to make sure he gets to all his appointments and in case an emergency or anything occurs that could cause problems with the transplant or healing process. This is the last thing I wanted to do, asking for donations, but this is our last resort. The financial situation we are in at this point, anything anyone could do would help us tremendously.
