1. AVVIT: Brian Hoadley Memorial Fund
My dear friend Penni, and a member of my crew, recently lost her partner Brian to cancer in 2016.
Brian was energetic, fun and adventurous. An avid cyclist, he was happiest of all in the saddle, slogging out the miles..
Following his death, Penni set up AVVIT . This will sponsor a young rider each year in the hopes that he or she will develop their fitness and racecraft for future successes.
During my last visit with Brian, we swooned over his last bike purchase—a Colnago Di2 beauty, It’s why I have dedicated what will be my hardest ride to date to raising funds in his memory.
2. The Special Olympics
Mike’s Uncle Peter has played a key role in the Special Olympics organization for many years and we have directly seen the amazing work they do. I am a strong believer in the benefit of sport for any individual.
Last year the Special Olympics announced the inclusion of triathlon. Mike and I donated funds from our wedding to the Special Olympics and I am happy to be raising money for them again.
