Nicki Knudson and Mimi Anderson Medical Expenses

Nicki was diagnosed with a very large abdominal cyst that required a lengthy and delicate surgery. Shortly before the surgery, she ended up with a bowel obstruction. On April 23rd, she was hospitalized at Methodist Hospital in Rochester in hopes the obstruction would clear prior to surgery. The cyst was causing so much added pressure to her organs it was decided to move up her surgery date. On May 5th, a highly specialized group of 4 surgeons were able to complete a 11 hour surgery in which they removed the large cyst (the size of a 2 liter pop bottle), a second smaller cyst and resection her bowel where the blockage was located. Nicki tolerated the surgery well and is on the road to recovery. She will remain hospitalized in Rochester for 10-14 days. Mimi has been in Rochester with her and will continue to stay through the duration.
