Hello everyone:  my name is Nick Trautmann.  I just moved into NYC on September 5th to pursue my dream of becoming a jazz bassist.  Unfortunately, when taking my bass on a train to a gig on Sunday, September 27th, the wind blew it over, breaking it's neck clean off.

I need your help to pay the repair costs of getting my bass's neck replaced by Upton, the same luthier that custom-built it for me not 10 months ago.  The rebuild will be extensive, and though the bass will come back good as new, it will require 22 hours of work at over $100 an hour.  

NYC is a notoriously difficult city to survive in as a musician, and just when I was finding my footing, this accident has taken the wind out of my sails and drained what savings I was relying on.  I would appreciate anything you can do to help a young musician continue to pursue his dream.
