Hey everyone!
God is sending me to the First Nation community of Pikangikum in Canada with Jonathan Maracle next week!
God has had me traveling to Pikangikum every year since 2012 and has put a burden on my heart for the people and the land. When I initially started to go, I went just thinking that it was "just some missions trip". However, God had much bigger plans in store for me with Pikangikum than just being another missions trip. Every year I would go God would further establish His heart for the people of Pikangikum inside my own heart. I began seeing the people and the land through His eyes instead of the limited view my physical eyes could see. As I allowed God to use and send me to accomplish His purposes in Pikangikum every summer, He also had me learn about both the history of the Native Americans as well as the future God has in store for them. Throughout the years God had me walk with my father who in a lot of ways pioneered my Native American journey. As we broke bread with Native Americans and prayed over the land as one in our home state of Pennsylvania, I was able to take what I had learned with me during my trips to Pikangikum.
Fast forwarding to this past year I felt like God wanted a trip to Pikangikum to happen that was focused on prayer, worship, and intercession for the healing of the land. Also back in 2012 the media title Pikangikum the "Suicide Capital of the World" due to the high amount of suicides per capita. The spiritual atmosphere in Pikangikum is a heavy and an oppressing one that you can feel as soon as you get there. While there is definitely great darkness in Pikangikum, I believe that's because the Enemy knows Gods mighty and powerful plan for the people of Pikangikum and is throwing everything he's got at the community. While the media might label Pikangikum as the "Suicide Capital of the World" I don't come into agreement with that. I believe God wants to turn Pikanigkum into a "Capital of Life" that would be seen and used to positively impact the other Native reservations in North America and beyond. A move of the Holy Spirit in Pikangikum would not just bless and transform Pikangikum solely, but I believe it would create a wave that goes out and would turn the other Native communities to Father God.
During the last six months, I had been working with my dad and others to try to put together a prayer trip to Pikangikum. Some doors were opening while others were closing. Ultimately we hadn't been able to come up with anything. This past week I was blessed to be at the Arrows of Glory gathering in Carlise, PA. During the week I had a dream that I would be heading on a last minute trip to Pikangikum soon. On Friday night at the gathering, I had an opportunity to talk with Jonathan Maracle (who's one of the most well known Native American worship leaders) about Pikangikum, and the conversation ended with me planning on going with him on his trip that was leaving in a little over a week. The next day during the last session of the conference all the young people were brought up front and commissioned by Native Americans for the next assignment God had in store for them. Within a couple of days from having the dream, both it and my prayers for something like it came to pass. God works in amazing ways!
The trip will be about a week long, and I believe God will be doing a lot during that short time. I ask that those who have a heart for God's plan for Native American restoration to pray for me during this trip and also to pray about financially sowing seeds to cover my costs. I wouldn't be able to go on trips like this certainly without the prayers of the saints covering me but also the funds to make this a reality. God blesses those who sow seeds of prayer and finances into what He's doing throughout the Earth, and I believe the healing of land specifically to do with Native Americans is a big part of His heart right now.
God bless everyone and thank you all for your prayers and financial seeds!
