NICK'S THYROIDECTOMY
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
We’re starting this Gofundme because while we’re grateful for the opportunity to have gone on this trip, we’re having to cut it short due to some unfortunate news we learned of in Thailand. While we were in Bangkok a few weeks ago, Nick went to get a basic check up and the medical team discovered his thyroid was enlarged. Initial tests and images came up with something that looks and acts like cancer.
There hasn’t yet been a biopsy of it to test if it’s cancerous, but the radiologist and endocrinologist in Bangkok weren’t feeling positive after the last ultrasound. He’s got two nodules, both with calcifications which are often found in cancerous nodules in the thyroid, and an extreme family history of thyroid issues (i.e. his grandmother, mother, and most aunts and uncles.) It also seems that both nodules are growing/spreading.
All this to say, they will be treating the thyroid as if its cancerous, and he will be having it removed, so we’re coming home early! This means that on top of last minute travel expenses to come back home, Nick is gonna be hit with a massive amount of medical bills this year for this surgery. The running of this Gofundme will hopefully alleviate the financial stress of the diagnostics, surgery, medical bills, and last minute relocation which will surely amount to 10’s of thousands of dollars. Anything you can help him out with would be greatly appreciated.
