Nick Tarcia - Catastrophic Motorcycle Accident

Update 11/7/2023:
(Original Message Below)

Thank you everyone who has donated or even just shared this link! My Dad is incredibly humbled and appreciative of everyone that has been able to help in any capacity. As well as from my perspective it is awesome to see so many people reach out.

A small health update I can provide since sharing original details. My father is out of original hospital that he was in, and out of any sort of ICU setting after a little over a month. He is still not quite home but is in much much better condition! This will be a long healing journey to follow and many new challenges to life that were not there before. However I'm confident he'll get through it all. I will provide an additional update ideally with some sort of video chat here in the next 2-3 weeks. Thank you again to everyone!

Hello,

My Father – Nick, was traveling home to Detroit on his motorcycle after visiting my sister in Colorado. He was about four hours from home when he was in a disastrous motorcycle accident, where he was hit.

My father sustained catastrophic injuries resulting in, amputation high up on his left leg and surgery to reconstruct his left elbow. Its truly a miracle he is alive and these were his only injuries.

Due to the severity of everything, finances are being drained, and he is facing a prolonged and difficult recovery. We are setting up this go fund me in hopes of raising money that will be required to support my father’s living expenses and help with additional support when applicable.

Anything that you can contribute will be greatly appreciated, and the more people that you can share this with and give an opportunity to help my father will be an added blessing. He has an amazingly good spirit and realizes he has been given a second chance at life. The quote that he is now modeling his life after that he wanted me to share to everyone is: "We have two lives; the second begins when we realize we only have one.” Confucius 550BC

Below are some photos of random times over the last few years so you can get a better understanding of the man my dad truly is. My brother and sister as well as my uncle. I know there will be times like these again. There's plenty more that could be added but these are some areas I want to highlight. The only photos shared here of the accident is the cover photo and an additional of my dad standing. My reasoning with that is I can confidently say myself and everyone around him will remain positive in the face of adversity as we look forward to the future, and not the past. Again thank you for any help and support.

Here is an article detailing the unfortunate events. My father is not the individual facing charges. External Link
