Hi everyone,
I am Ganita, Nick's partner of 14 years. I feel sick to my stomach even having to write this, and everyone knows I never ask for money...But our Nicky is currently in critical condition fighting for his life and we need everyone's help!
The most devastating news is Nick is a drummer but just lost the use of his legs a few days ago due to a spinal tumor starting to press on his spinal cord. THERE IS A CHANCE WE CAN REVERSE THIS, BUT WE MUST ACT NOW. The complication is that he is dealing with a very dangerous situation called pancytopenia (condition where the red blood cells, white blood cells & platelets are ALL simultaneously critically low), so the doctors suspect possible internal bleeding.
We have been stuck at a hospital in Mexico paying out of pocket to treat these complications (mom & sister Tricia are also here). Nick, of course, is really anxious to get back home to the States. However, it is starting to look like he will not be cleared to fly on a commercial flight with the way his vitals are looking. He needs to be transferred ASAP while he is still in stable enough condition (after having received a few blood transfusions so far).
He has been fighting cancer since 2017 and was even cancer-free for 1.5 years, but it came back very aggressively last March (just as Covid was starting). In just the last 16 months he has endured more turns for the worse than anyone else I have ever heard of having to deal with on their cancer journey. He still has a long road of fighting ahead of him, but we would love to be able to get him an ambulance flight back home to the U.S. immediately & have him not worry about mounting medical bills...ANY AMOUNT will help. We are also praying that there is something we can do about the paralysis.
I cannot lose my ride-or-die of 14 years and want to give him the best chance of being able to play drums & WALK AGAIN!
