Nick Melquiades was a local community leader who died of COVID -19 recently.   Nick's family is struggling to pay for his funeral expenses because this is the 3rd son that his parents have lost in the past year.   Nick's brother died of kidney failure 4 months ago.        Nick was a founding member of the Riverside Food Coop,  a founding member of the Riverside Garden Council,  was instrumental in helping with funding the Northside Meadows project, a farm and community garden space in the Northside of Riverside CA.     He was very generous with this time and freely gave of his immense graphic skills for many  community groups in Riverside.     His only remaining sibling, his sister reached out to the Riverside Food Systems Alliance and stated his family was struggling to fund his funeral and burial costs.      We are asking the community to respond by helping his family in appreciation for all that Nick has done for our community during his life.      All proceeds will be given to the family to assist with his burial expenses.  
For all of use who personally knew Nick - there is a big hole in our hearts and we miss him.
