Hi, My name is Dave Scope, and I am fundraising for my friend Nick Mathewson.

Last Saturday, Nick was on a night out with friends in Newcastle.

As the evening was coming to an end and he was walking up High Bridge street, a car at speed appeared from nowhere and mounted the pavement, crashing into Nick and pinning him against the wall.

His friends gave first aid until the emergency services arrived, and he was freed from the crash.

He underwent emergency surgery to address his leg's multiple breaks and crush injuries. He has had further surgery this week.

Nick is looking at a lengthy recovery before considering returning to work.

As Nick is self-employed, he has no sick pay.

We are hoping to raise funds to tide Nick over until he can return to work, so any donation would be greatly appreciated
