Nick Howley

Hi My Name is Pauline Howley, I lost my Husband to Cancer on 23rd December 2024.

We have been together for 45yrs, We have both worked hard all our lives, enjoying moments together, We have never been Extravagant but did look forward to our holidays.

My Husband was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer in August 2024 and was unable to carry on working which had a big impact on our lives, We were then advised that there was no cure and his form of Cancer was mosr severe a Metastatic Tumour in the Bladder , Nick started to recieve PIP in November and we paid our Rent and bills and tried very hard to stay updated with everything.

Nick died at home on 23rd December, and after seeking advise I contacted DWP for help with funeral expenses, but today they have advised that because Nick had a little money in his account from PIP payments not savings, they could not help with funeral costs, I am devatstated as the money I used for the funeral was to help with living costs and more

importantly cover the rent each month which is a £1000

I am now looking at being made homeless at no fault of my own as my wage will not cover all my monthly Bills

I have never asked for any help before, we were a proud couple working hard to have a decent life, giving when we could to others, and now my world has been turned upside down losing my Soul Mate, Any help would be greatly appreciated
